Royal Scot Steam Train at NYMR Pickering in February
When I was growing up in Pickering we used to go and help out at the North Yorkshire Moors Railway. This would be in the early 1970’s. The railway was in it’s early stages and nothing like the attraction it is today. In 1973 there was a mini TV series filmed at the station. It was a 10 second segment at the start of the programme – South Riding starring Dorothy Tutin. They ‘dressed’ the station to look like a 1930’s station.
